April 2006 Archives

Rocktown is this weekend, in case you haven't heard. Which, apparently, many people haven't. Despite 3 months of flag-waving and pushing it back weekends so *everybody* could go, who then can't go because of this or that. Well, the unfortunate news (for them) is that the trip isn't getting pushed back anymore. The fortunate news (for them) is that they'll have another chance in 4 weeks to hop on board again on another trip up to that area, and 4 weeks ought to be *plenty* of time for people to get their shit together. If it's not, let me know... so I can send Tommy to hit you over the head with a tackhammer.

And so, one more reason to love The Chuck:

When Chuck Norris goes fishing he doesn’t use a fishing pole like normal people - he ties a rope with a huge hook on it to his massive erection. He then swipes the fish into the air and roundhouse kicks them to their death.

Special thanks to Danny Boy for that extra oomph to an already staggering collection of reasons to love The Chuck.

Chuck Norris is everybody's hero. Everybody knows that. And if you don't, you're either a communist, or a nobody. Or both. So here's more reasons to love Chuck:

  • Chuck Norris went scuba diving once. International law now forbids this due to a sharp decline in the population of great white sharks due to roundhouse kicks to the head.

  • Chuck Norris once fell 37 stories on his head just to test the strength of his new hair gel.

  • Chuck Norris’s beard is considered a delicacy in China even though nobody has ever had the privilege of tasting it.

Climbzilla brings it down to earth by just holding on... and *heeeaaaaving*. Climbzilla doesn't climb, he just drags the final hold down so he can reach it. RaAaaaAAAaaaaaRRRRGH!

So... Climbzilla boosted his huge carcass up a 5.12 yesterday at Xtreme. Climbzilla reached, Climbzilla pulled, Climbzilla wrecked, and ravaged, and ROARED! And the five-one-two was conquered. Climbzilla is proud at this achievement. You should congratulate Climbzilla.

Portable power...

So I wanted to find a way to power stuff. Like laptops, phones, and other little electronic doodads and such. While climbing/hiking/being outdoorsy. Research into the matter led me to several solutions, but none so elegant as this one from Tree Hugger. Check it out, it's totally worthy of consideration if you plan on being lost for any extended period of time!

The South Florida Dubs website has got its new look! Well, mostly. I've uploaded the header and positioned it accordingly, and it's looking nice. I also made several upgrades to the site itself, adding personal blog capabilites and a nice portal for the facade of the site. I'm considering a better portal page, though, one with a little more flexibility and a lot more visibility to search engines.
